We had so much fun! We chose to ditch school on Friday in order to be able to have a day at the park without crowds. What a SMART choice! The park was dead and the kids got to ride the biggest coasters over and over without even getting off! Thankfully we did this...we went back Saturday for another day of fun and it was so crowded we didn't even go in! We literally drove through the parking lot and decided to be grateful we had already ridden everything! We made a spontaneous decision to go to the Botanical Gardens and the kids had a ball! We also found a super fun steakhouse that has a two story slide right in the center! Best restaurant ever!!!
Luke has finally reached a monumental milestone of 42 inches after spending the past two years crying at the bottom of roller coasters for being too short! He was overjoyed to finally be the next magical height and was running to ride the newest coasters he has previously been banned from! We even have saved one in Dallas to ride with Luke when he was finally big enough so we all got to ride the bobsleds for the very first time!
Matt also reached the next magical height and was allowed on the Superman Power Tower (the one that first launches you into the sky and then drops you back down!). He was a basket of emotions...so excited to get on, then his little face showed pure fear as they were waiting to launch, followed by a smile the size of Texas when it over!
After our two days of fun, Sunday morning we checked into Great Wolf Lodge! Best news for Luke...his newfound height worked again and was able to ride all but two slides! The kids were overjoyed to be there and we spent 9 straight hours playing in the slides, wave pool, lazy river and water structure! The kid cabin we had for our room was a huge hit! Monday morning (yes, another ditch day for us!) we were back in the water by 9am! After a few more hours of fun, we dropped Daddy at the Dallas airport for his week in Utah and the kids and I finally headed home for what would become a VERY long 36 hours...more later on that one! :)
